Review: Terry Gilliam has never found it easy to make a film of their very strange. Studio interference is almost always lead to delays, postponements and outright cancellations, including his final cut emerging bruised, bleeding and design - most often - corrupt. Interestingly, The Zero Theorem suffering almost nothing in the gossip that usually accompanies a film of Gilliam. Instead, the dense, complex, intriguing odyssey of human existence and the (un) happiness feel like pure Gilliam: unique, sturdy, but - at its best - almost breathtakingly brilliant. In some, not so distant dystopian future bright, bright, bright and lonely mathematician determinedly Qohen Leth (Christoph Waltz) affected by small indignities of everyday life. He is forced to leave the burned church he calls home to report for work, where it crunches the numbers to their immediate supervisor nora Joby (David Thewlis). But all he wants to stay close to your phone, the Waiting for a phone call that he believes will help you unravel the mystery of the universe and its mysterious kingpin Management existence. When (a silver-haired Matt Damon) finally gives him license to work at home is assigned the impossible Qohen Zero Theorem, a mathematical puzzle that many defeated a mathematician before him. To prevent it from going completely around the bend, sending the company management as Bainsley (? M lanie Thierry), now can marry a girl he forges an emotional connection unexpected; Property Managers and genius teenage son Bob (Luke Hedges). If you it is to looking for a plot that feel and progresses logically, The Zero Theorem is not the movie for you. In Gilliams film based on a script by Pat wacky blistering run, one plot point is More often than not metaphors for the human condition. The script can be both literal and obtuse: Qohen live in an empty church, a blindingly obvious symbol of the disappearance of traditional religion; hes to waiting for a call - read: call - to free him from the mundane banalities of a worker-bees life. But it is also where the genius of the film. It an explosion of philosophical ideas, asking deep questions, hard on happiness, humanity and arrogance - often in the same scene. Some films and filmmakers would not dare to boldly face such existential questions in scale and depth. The holder Zero Theorem, after all, Qohen need to check if everything is nothing: that the entire universe, full of people, the latter is meaningless. Qohens strange, some clues to travel to some answers, but not anywhere near all them.Gilliam can easily be disappointed with two counts: the blonde love interest a bit stereotypical; and annoyingly precocious teenager. But, within the archetypes, The Zero Theorem finds something fascinating to say. Bainsley begins as a ditzy blonde dream girl, but end Qohen offers many souls and elusive nature, passing of infinity. Bob also is a smart whip delight children more in tune with the silent beats and rhythms of the universe than any numbers of older and wiser than him.The film people allegedly fail catastrophically without a Hero i can deal with tragedy and comedy Qohen Leth - a character who, always referring to himself using the real, is a metaphor for all the people who have always and always will be. Waltz is rather than the the task. He is hilariously effective when called to squirm in a virtual reality slinky costume, and devastatingly painful at the time Qohen refused the chance of freedom and happiness to stay locked in, nihilistic dark world in which he lived. There also a couple of wonderful cornering support - slightly larger than cameos - Damon and Tilda Swinton. The former clearly enjoyed his time working on The Brothers Grimm, one of the most harmful experiences on set Gilliams, and here, she gives ...
